Dr John Chow graduated from Manchester University in 1986. After schooling in the UK he settled in Melbourne with his family and trained at a number of teaching hospitals before entering general medical practice in Melbourne in the early 90s.
He holds the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Over the years he has developed a keen interest in the clinical management of patients with drug and alcohol problems. Dr Chow gained valuable clinical experience at Southcity Clinic in Elwood, Melbourne. He undertook postgraduate studies in addictions, obtaining the Graduate Diploma in Alcohol and Drug Studies from the University of Adelaide. Later he completed specialty training in Addiction Medicine at Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre, Fitzroy and St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. Dr Chow has been awarded Foundation Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
