Expertise

Dr Frei has worked in the alcohol and drug field for the last decade. He has worked in private practice settings as well as in public practice at Southern Health and Eastern Health in the last five years. His clinical interest lies in the assessment and management of substance-use related impairment.

Until recently he held a senior clinician role with the Victorian Doctors Health Program. He has been an Addiction Medicine Physician for Turning Point/EHADS for several years and has recently been appointed as Head of Clinical Services for Turning Point/EHADS. He is a Foundation Fellow of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine and is adjunct lecturer at the Department of Psychology and Psychiatry at Monash University.
