Dr Noel Plumley, BTechSc, MA, MBBS, PGDipAODstudies, FAChAM, AFACASM, ACCAM

Position: Addiction Medicine Specialist at Turning Point Alcohol & Drug Service in Richmond. His sub-specialty is substance use in the aviation industry.

After a career in the North Sea and Northwest Shelf oil industry, Noel went onto graduate in medicine from the University of Western Australia in 1986. From 1991 he was employed in public alcohol and drug services in Western Australia, and more recently in Tasmania, assessing and treating a wide range of substance use issues, including ATSI and forensic health facilities.

From 1997-2010 he was a Senior Medical Officer for the WA Community Opioid Replacement Program (CPOP) and the WA Clinical Advisory Service. In 2001 he was awarded a Churchill Fellowship and later the RACGP public health prize for the co-founding of Streetdoctor, a mobile medical service for the homeless in Perth.

In 2015, Noel moved to Melbourne and is an Addiction Medicine Specialist at Turning Point Alcohol & Drug Service in Richmond.  His sub-specialty is substance use in the aviation industry.
